Pravda
The painting represents a Stalinist building often found in Eastern Europe and beyond. The letters at the top of the building spell out the word "Pravda" in Russian which means "Truth." The building seems solid, long-lasting and resilient. It symbolises an ideology which dominates life and allows no dissent. It has taken root in diverse countries and several political structures and even in some religious systems. The building is not, however, as solid as it seems - underground and in its foundations there burn the fires of the Spirit of liberation and freedom that will eventually topple the tyranny.
